Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva opened his own official blog on Monday.
The president’s press office said the blog is the president’s effort to increase communication with his people and it was inspired by a strategy U.S. President Barack Obama used in his 2008 presidential campaign.
The office said the Brazilian population’s curiosity about the president’s blog has exceeded expectations, causing a server crash which lasted most of Monday morning. The number of simultaneous accesses to the blog reached 10,000.
The blog will cover Lula’s activities both in words and in video clips. So far, the blog has a video welcoming message, a video interview for this week’s “Breakfast with the President” radio show, and information on new regulations concerning the exploration of Brazil’s pre-salt oil and gas reserves.
The blog’s content will be written by three journalists and its technical support is to be provided by two technicians.

However, when the second goal finally arrived, just three minutes from halftime, it was Keita who scored it.
Another corner was taken short by Xavi to Dani Alves, who crossed for Keita to score the second headed goal of the night.
That score left Sporting with few options other than to attack in the second period, but it was Barcelona that started the brighter of the two sides as both Ibrahimovich and Bojan tried their luck.
It was Keita who came closest as he rattled the post following yet another Xavi corner after 67 minutes.
However, the fans in the Camp Nou had to wait until the 81st minute before they were able to celebrate the third goal of the night. Xavi hit another short corner for Alves to cross and Ibrahimovich produced a diving header to give the keeper no chance.

With Leo Messi back in Argentina to prepare for next weekend’s World cup clash against Brasil and Thierry Henry rested, Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola gave starting places to youngsters Bojan and Pedro Rodriguez alongside recent arrival Ibrahimovich in attack.
With Sporting looking to defend deep, it took a while for the new look line-up to gel, but after 17 minutes, the reigning champions took the lead.
Xavi Hernandez took a corner, Keita got a touch and Bojan was on hand to score at the far post. It was the perfect present for the young striker, who had celebrated his 19th birthday just three days ago.
Barcelona continued to control the game, but without creating clearcut chances and Ibrahimovich’s desire to open his account was obvious to anyone watching the game.
Defending Primera Liga champions FCBarcelona kicked off its league campaign with a straightforward 3-0 win over Sporting Gijon.
The game was played on Monday because of Barcelona having to play the European Supercup against Shakhtar Donetsk last Friday.
However, if the Barca players had tired legs after playing 120-minute football just three days earlier, they didn’t show against a side expected to struggle this season.
Goals from Bojan Krkic, Seydou Keita and a debut strike from Zlatan Ibrahimovich gave Barcelona all three points against a rival that was content to defend for large periods of the game.

Real Madrid sold utility defender Miguel Torres to fellow Primera Liga outfit Getafe this Monday.
The 23-year-old product of the Real Madrid youth system has agreed a five-year-deal with Getafe, a club based just to the South of Madrid, while Getafe has paid two million euros for his services.
Real Madrid has reserved an option to buy Torres back during his first two seasons at his new club.
Torres is the sixth product of the Real youth system to leave the club this summer, following the likes of Javi Garcia and Alvaro Negredo out of the door, casting further doubt onto club President Florentino Perez’s treatment of players who come up through the ranks.
The last player to become a first team regular at Real Madrid after playing for the club’s youth teams was goalkeeper Iker Casillas, who has been first choice keeper for the past 10 years.
Torres made 53 league appearances for his former club in three seasons with the first team.

Thousands of refugees from Myanmar poured across the border into southern China at the end of the week to escape fighting there, a provincial official told CNN on Friday.
The exact nature of the conflict and when it started were not immediately clear, but people began crossing the border into Yunnan province Thursday morning, China’s state-run Xinhua news agency reported. Exile groups reported that factions of a rebel army in northeastern Myanmar were battling each other.
“First, we’d like to clarify that these people who crossed the borders are not called the refugees — they are residents near the borders,” a Yunnan government spokesman said.
“Due to the war in their country, they crossed the border into our province. At the moment, there are about 10,000 of them.”
The number of people fleeing from Myanmar continued to increase Friday, sources with Yunnan’s provincial foreign affairs office said, according to Xinhua.
“At the moment, we do not know how long they are going to stay in our province, and we do not know how long we will keep them,” the government spokesman told CNN. “But on humanitarian grounds, we will provide help and support to them properly.”
“It started out kind of slow for the Pacific,” said Robbie Berg, another specialist at the hurricane center. “Now we’ve had seven named storms form, and that’s pretty busy for August. I think it’s been a couple decades since we’ve seen that many storms in August.”
There’s no reason for people in Southern California to panic, but they should keep an eye on Jimena, Berg said.
“There’s no watches or warnings in effect, but we would like residents and tourists in the area to monitor the progress of the storm,” Berg said. “We do expect it to maintain its major hurricane strength as it heads up into that area.”
Tropical Storm Kevin has also emerged in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. However, Berg said it is weak — with winds at a mere 50 mph — and is not expected to pose a serious threat.
Packing winds of 140 mph, Hurricane Jimena was approaching Baja California on Sunday as a Category 4 storm, forecasters said.
“There’s a good chance this system could be a Category 5 in the next 24 hours,” said Dave Roberts, a hurricane specialist with the National Hurricane Center in Miami, Florida.
As of Sunday afternoon, Jimena was about 270 miles (440 km) south of Cabo Correintes, Mexico, or about 480 miles (770 km) south-southeast of the southern tip of Baja California, according to the center. The storm is expected to continue in a north-northwest motion and approach the southwestern tip of Baja California sometime early Tuesday.
Jimena is the 10th named storm of the Pacific season.
Lian Hoon Him is a partner and head of the operations practice that covers manufacturing at the management consulting firm AT Kearney in Hong Kong.
Lim said the challenge for Guangdong’s manufacturers is not necessarily to move into more advanced sectors, but to develop more efficient manufacturing processes.
“They need to redesign their end-to-end supply chain and manufacturing processes so they can produce items more cheaply and efficiently. This improves their manufacturing position, and could go some way to help in weathering a fall in export sales,” Lim said.
LCD televisions
The production lines at the manufacturing plant in Huizhou of TCL Corp, China’s third-largest TV maker, are still going at full tilt.
The plant is producing 5,000 46-inch and 8,000 32-inch LCD TV modules a day.
