I saw a band this week by the name of Sunn O))). This was the first time I had seen them, though I had heard stories. Through a heavy haze of smoke and dim lighting they took the stage in black hooded robes. The vocalist once he made his appearance really took the cake however. His getup is pretty hard to explain, but he looked for all the world like some sinister pagan tree god. The whole thing was very visually striking, and not a little tongue in cheek.
The vocalists costume though, it totally reminded me of similar tree creature costume I owned as a youngster. I loved it. I wanted to wear it all the time, much to my mother’s dismay. This just a day after seeing this person on the Venice boardwalk in another costume that was a variation of the sinister tree theme.
