My parents live in the country. They keep a dog called Ah Fu. One day my parents went to work in the fields taking my little sister and Ah Fu along. While they were working, my sister walked to a river nearby. Ah Fu followed her there. She was trying to pick a flower when she fell into the river. Ah Fu barked and jumped into the water immediately. When my parents heard Ah Fu barking they ran to the river They saw Ah Fu swimming towards the bank carrying my little sister. My parents praised Ah Fu warmly. It was our brave Ah Fu who had saved my little sister.
Life is a struggle. I shall never forget the most striking part of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow' s poem — A Psalm of Life: “In the world's blood field of battle, In the bivouac of life, Be not like dumb, driven cattle! Be a hero in the strife!”
Ludwig van Beethoven was a typical “hero in the strife”. He was not only one of the greatest composers, but also one of the most persevering men. As a deaf man, he went on working with his strong will in the last year of his life, though he was not able to hear his own fine and original music. Another example of persistence in struggle is Deng Yaping. She once said that her technique came from continuous training, emphasizing the importance of daily practice to a player.
As a student, I seem to be in a boat sailiug against the current. I must make an effort to forge ahead. A little carelessness will result in being driven back. Indeed, learning is a struggle against idleness and carelessness. Following the examples of Ludwig van Beethoven and Deng Yaping, I shall take great pains to urge myself on, moving steadily forward like a heroic boatman in the rough sea of knowledge
I found half of the day to visit a flower show and had my long hair cut. Coming out of the show, I walked along until I came to a park bench. I sat down to allow myself some leisure for the first time since I started learning French two months before. www.mfzlk.com
Then a book lying in the grass nearby caught my eye. I picked it up. It was a French book in excellent binding①. As I turned the pages quickly, a young couple came up to ask if I had seen a book in German. Wrongly understanding my expression on my face, the young man, who seemed well-educated, added that it was a book in literature.
I held out the book and explained it was a French book on education. The man was so troubled by what I said that he took it away from my hand in a hurry. As they turned to go away, I heard the man speaking: “What do you expect? A guy② with long hair and in bell-bottom trousers③ can’t tell German from French.”
The girl nodded in agreement, but I was wondering if she would ever find out what was going on.
Mankind is wasting things every'where and everyday. Wherever we go, we can see that paper, bottles and cans are thrown away; food is wasted just because of poor taste; clothes are discarded simply due to their old fashion. Not only things and money are wasted, but natural resources are abused as well. Trees are cut down merely for fuel; wild animals are killed simply for meat and fur; oil and coal are exploited in a bad way.
The worst example of man's waste is the waste of time. Many people tend to spend their time on worthless things, such as wandering about in the street, gossiping in the office, sleeping too much during the day. As we know, time is very precious to us since it passes by and never returns. The waste of time amounts to the waste of life.
It is time to call for an end to the waste. On one hand, we must save on natural resources and make full use of them; otherwise human beings will be faced with the shortage of natural resources and suffer from the pollution caused by waste. On the other hand, we must trea sure our time. Only with our time devoted to the study and the work for the people, will we never regret the life we have had.
I have been shocked many times by some accidents in my life through which I find Human's life is like a delicate vase that will break into pieces for some unexpected incidents.
One day in the summer of last year, Wang, my friend, was watching a football match with his father. The match was too exciting for his father's heart to bear so he suddenly fell down to the ground for the heart attack. 120 was soon dialed but Wang's father passed away at last. It was too cruel for Wang to see his father die in front of him, and also too difficult for me to accept the fact, because just several hours before his death, he picked Wang and me up at Pu Dong Airport and sent us back home. At that time, he was so healthy that no one would expect that he would die a few hours later.
A few days later, I found something wrong with my body.It was a cyst as big as a coin found under my cheek. I felt very worried because, as I know, a cyst in that place was very dangerous. I was put into hospital after the doctor decided to remove it. After I entered the room of patients, I was jaw dropping because the looks of the patients were frightening, one person has a lump as big as a baseball on his face; another patient's eyes were bruised too badly to be seen and an old man's teeth had been all knocked off because the doctor would do an operation in his throat. I felt lucky and was even satisfied with my illness in this situation.
Life is really precious and delicate. Some people are bornblind or deaf. Some pass away in a minute. Some live in great pain even they are alive. We have no qualification to complain about some little unfairness in our life if we are healthy. We should care for our lives and make use of it as plentifully as possible.
